I’M KRIS KASPAR
New York City-based film director from Europe.
As an accomplished artist with a Master’s Degree in film, I directed commercials, music videos, award-winning shorts in my home country and the US, and a feature film with well-known Hungarian stars, screened in all theaters nationwide. I am a passionate storyteller who has a unique visual world.
‘HERE COMES THE SUN’ will be my second feature film.
DEATH WALTZ
was the first feature film I directed.
Oddly enough, it was Hungary’s first thriller genre movie. I had the chance to work with well-known Hungarian stars (András Kern, Kata Dobó). Screened nation-wide in every theater.
STORY:
‘A long-lost retired father comes for a visit to his daughter and as both of them are detectives they begin to investigate each-other. Dark secrets come to surface mixed with life-threatening love triangle.’

JOHNNY’S PRESENT
is my first narrative short film I have written and directed in New york City (co-writer and starring: Mihaly Szabados). The artistic challenge was telling a complex drama of a layered character with the help of only a single actor who is on phone in a car during the whole story.

is a fashion film I have written and directed in Los Angeles for the brand Haute Sisqué. Originally, it was four individual commercials with a mutual concept.
The theme that loosely fuses the four commercials into one fashion film is the contemporary version of the fairy tale ‘The Sleeping Beauty’.

is an intriguing, surreal fantasy-thriller short film I wrote and directed for testing a professional 3D movie camera set. Originally it was shot in 3D. Here you can see the the 2D version.

FASHION COMMERCIAL
MARCH OF THE LIVING
is an ad I wrote and directed for the International March Of The Living.
The universal goal of the International March of the Living is to help inspire their participants to fight indifference, racism and injustice by witnessing the atrocities of the Holocaust. Therefore the concept of this film is about to tear down the dark, mirror-walls between us and see the other soul behind.
Large part of the movie was shot with a super slow-motion camera with 15,000 frames per sec. So you can see real life mirror breaking here with real life people participating. No digital effects (VFX) involved.

MANFRED MOHR
‘I CAN TRUST THE MACHINE’
is a short documentary about the genius Manfred Mohr.
‘Manfred Mohr is considered a pioneer of digital art based on algorithms. Mohr programmed his first computer drawings in 1969. Since then all his artwork is produced exclusively with the computer. Mohr develops and writes algorithms for his visual ideas. Since 1973, he generates 2-D semiotic graphic constructs using multidimensional hypercubes.’
